HIGDON IS THRILLED TO BE WORKING WITH THE AKROPOLIS REED QUINTET
This amazing group of musicians won a Fischoff Gold Medal, have been on the Billboard charts with their last three albums, and won a GRAMMY in 2025. Now they've commissioned Higdon to write a new work titled Rush Not the Reeds. There are many opportunities to hear Akropolis in concert and to hear Higdon's new work. NOTABLE RECORDING
The multiple Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet will release a new CD, featuring a commissioned work by Higdon, on Friday, October 9. This world-premiere recording is titled Steps for Justice, and is a portrait of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The work includes texts by Ginsburg, her daughter-in-law Patrice Michaels and Higdon herself. Higdon is honored that it is narrated by NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg, a long-time friend of Ginsburg.
